Formerly known as NRG Stadium — it carried that name from 2014–2026 and went back to Reliant Stadium in August 2026. Same building, same address. 1 NRG Parkway, Houston, TX 77054.

How the day runs
9:00 AM
Homecoming parade steps off
Wheeler Avenue through the Third Ward. Free, and the best way to start the day if you are already in Houston.
10:00 AM
Stadium lots open
Four hours before kickoff. Grills, tents and chapter banners. Jaguar tailgates welcome in the same lots.
12:30 PM
Gates open
Ninety minutes before kickoff. Go in early — the concourses at Reliant Stadium are wide but 26,000 people still take time.
1:40 PM
Bands take the field
Pre-game from the Ocean of Soul and the Human Jukebox. A lot of people consider this the first half.
2:00 PM
Kickoff
TSU Tigers versus the SU Jaguars. Roof closed, both sidelines full.
Halftime
Battle of the bands
The reason the upper bowl is worth every dollar. Nobody leaves their seat.

Six things worth checking
Clear bag policy
Reliant Stadium enforces a clear-bag policy and does not allow outside food or drink. Exact bag dimensions and the prohibited-items list are published by the venue and are revised from time to time — check them the week of the game.
Verify with the venue before travelling — this policy is set by Reliant Stadium, not by the university.
Mobile tickets only
Your ticket lives in your TIXR account on your phone. Add it to your wallet before you leave home rather than in the queue on stadium wifi.
Parking
The stadium complex sells parking by lot, and it is cheaper bought in advance than at the gate. Green and Yellow lots are the tailgate lots; note your lot before you leave, because they all look alike at 6 PM.
METRORail
The Red Line stops at Stadium Park/Astrodome, a short walk from the gates, and runs from Downtown and the Museum District. It is the least painful option if you are staying in town.
Accessible seating
Accessible and companion seating is available in every level. Select it on TIXR, or note it on the group form so the ticket office places your party together.
Re-entry
There is no re-entry once you are inside, so finish the tailgate before you scan in.
